So why are there no adjustable gas plugs for the Norc's? No one does the chinese threads? Could this not be accomplished with some fine lathe work?

drill, tap, buy some bolts and a number bit set and you can make yer own. Thats all the Mccann gas plug for the Garand is. 8-32 allen head cap screws with various size holes. No lathe required, you could do it at the kitchen table

Thanks for the idea. It seemed simple enough from what i've seen of the manufactured ones. Off to home depot I go......

Doesn't Dlask arms have something like this that allows you to change the timing of you piston? Is this not the same?

Nope, the Dlask Adjustable Gas Lock allows the gas tube to be assembled on the barrel/gas system at a desired torque without worrying about going out of alignment or leaving the gas cylinder lose.

I picked up a Schuster Mfg Inc. Adjustable M1A Gas System off ebay for a really good price. Ended up costing me a complete gas tube assy as the plug thread isn't compatable with the Norc tube. Was it worth it? NOPE. When not fully closed the rifle didn't cycle reliably.
