I recently purchased a used Remington 1100 "Trap" and really like the gun but the fit is a little off. I have to jack the gun up on my shoulder to get a proper look down the rib so I'm thinking an adjustable butt plate is in order. Looking for recommendations on what would work well. Also wondering about how difficult they are to install and if it's something that should be left to a professional how about the name of a good Gunsmith in SW Ontario.

Thanks
Dave

Dean at Gobles can do one for you. You should look at the Jones one or the one from 100 straight. Or you might have an adjustable comb installed.

Morgan makes an excellent adjustable recoil pad, with either a straight pad or a curved one.
Pitch is also adjustable on it.
You can get it with a plastic frame or an aluminum frame.
Brownell's sells them for about $40.

I do plan on changing the pad. I just have the original Remington on there now that's getting a little worn.

I've been looking at the Morgan. They seems pretty straight forward.

Thanks

Bump buster by Ken Rucker is not cheap, but it is amazing. It's like shooting a pogo stick. I can vouch for the quality and effectiveness of this product. I shoot about 150 rounds in an afternoon with one, and never fatigue. It's also fully adjustable, with the exception of LOP. For that, you'd have to swap out the pad itself, or add shims.
