adjustable sight barrel for waterfowl?

Has anyone done any wing shooting with a barrel that has rifle sights on it. Getting a shottie with a turkey barrel (I think, that's a long story) and want to use it for waterfowl too. Anyone done this and what disadvantage is it?
 
If your aiming a shotgun while wingshooting useing either rifle sights or the beads your shooting it wrong. A shotgun should be pointed not aimed. I had a hunting friend buy a Winchester 9410 (lever action .410) thinking it would be cats ass for rabbit hunting. Trying to shoot it like that though never worked. Look at your target when shooting a shotgun not your gun.

That sums it up....... considering gun fit is not an issue for an individual in question.

Not too sure what you meant with that statement. Hope you are planning to remove the rifle sights should you plan to hunt waterfowl with the shotgun :)
 
Yes is does make a difference. Thats the point I was trying to make. shooting a shotgun for wingshooting and aiming it WRONG. Most of the Turkey barrels I have seen though are short vent rib barrels that have a clip on fiber optic sights. If thats the way it is TAKE THEM OFF TO DUCK HUNT. One other thing I'd like to mention is that most of the Turkey guns come with a Turkey choke only and that's not the choke to be shooting steel shot out of either. If fact in alot of cases shooting steel shot through a Turkey choke will damage/destroy the choke and/or the barrel itself. If shooting steel shot you want nothing tighter than a factory Modifed choke.

Agree ... "aiming" at a crossing target - you're just about sure to be "behind".

Shotguns really don't need any kind of a sight or bead at all if they fit you properly.
