Adjustable trigger for P17 suggestions

Time for a replacement trigger for my M1917 (P17) based sporter. I dont mind 2-stage triggers, but this one suuucks. It's a hunting rig not a target rifle. Dayton have triggers from $50+ that they'll ship to Canada, but just wondering what suggestions anyone might have regarding this.

The Dayton-Traister triggers are good. I have also had great success with Timney's drop-in trigger for these rifles. There are two designs, depending on magazine capacity. Both are readily available. Regards, Eagleye.
 
I have two P17 actions that have been converted to long range target rifles. I have Canjar single stage triggers on both. They work great!

See Timney and Dayton are priced about the same and will ship to Canada. Dayton offers a ####-on-opening conversion also I see. I really don't mind the ####-on-closing method to be honest as I have a dozen Enfields in my collection.

I was asking because I have a timney for the unmodified floor plate
I would have sold you for what i paid for it:)

If you go for the DT trigger, I would advise against the #### on opening conversion, I have yet to use one that is not worse than the original ; it slows down lock time and "muddies" up the action. Way back when the Brits designed these rifles, they knew exactly what they were doing! The "Speedlock" kit isn't too hot either!

I have owned, shot, and variously modified more Enfield Pattern rifles than I am willing to admit, and have come back around to the idea that simple is best. I would go with the Dayton-Traister for that reason if no other!
 
I have both,too. The D-T was tiny bit more work than the Timmey,so for ease,I would suggest the Timmey.I think the D-T might be a bit better unit,it's all steel.When you are at it,unless it's alrighty done,replace the ejector spring with a coil spring. Or buy a Timmey and kit from Gunparts.
 
I dropped a Timney Sportsman into my BSA conversion of a six shot Pattern 17 and it was awesome.

I also dropped it into a Bell & Carlson fiberglass stock which was also a fantastic upgrade.
