Adjusting an Anschutz 2 Stage Trigger

I cannot get my Anschutz 5022 two stage trigger adjusted properly. This trigger is on a Hunter silhouette gun and I need at least 32 ounces of total pull weight to be legal but would like to be a little heavier to be safe.

The problem is that I have the first stage weight screw adjusted in as far as it will go and the second stage trigger adjustment screwed turned in all the way and I am just barely getting two pounds total. At this setting I get a 24 ounce first stage and then barely an 8 ounce second stage. This is not terrible but I wanted to have a slightly heavier first stage and a slightly lighter second. This is not a new trigger as I bought it from a reputable user who said that he had Mr. Tubb adjust it in the first place.

Are my springs worn out and need replacing or do I have other issues? I have studied adjustment instructions on Zediker but thought that I should be able to make the first and second stages heavier and lighter as heavy as 50 ounces and as light as 10 ounces.

Thanks!

I think you need to put in heavier springs to get the weight up. I know with heavier springs the Anschutz can be set up for 3.5 lbs.

That is what I thought as well. The trigger I have should have been the 5022which is adjustable to 1500 grams approximately 3.3 pounds. I contacted the person I bought the trigger from to see if he changed the springs out. I just thought maybe I was adjusting something wrong.

Hi Troy, also, if you are using a spring tester to check the weight be sure it is accurate. A weight is the best to test triggers if you can cobble one together.

Ian,

Thanks for the reply. I am not using an official two pound weight and i have no doubt that a spring type scale is not that accuarate but I have tried a couple of different spring type scales and I am too close to the limit to feel comfortable driving 6 hours to a competition knowing I cannot make the weight heavier if I have to.

I will try to contact North Sylva and see if they can help me.
