I am trying to sight in a Sauer O/U combo 16 ga. x .243 win. The windage (left/right) is done by drifting the front mount, and I have that in done. The elevation is a head scratcher. The gun is shooting about 4 inches low at 25 yards. The scope is a jena rail mount with 2 turrets on the top. The back turret appears to me a fine focus adjustment knob, and the front does move elevation to the point 4 inches low of point of aim to about 12 inches below point of aim. On the rear mount is a large screw head on the left side of the mount - is that an additional elevation adjustment? Or do I have to think about doing some shimming of the scope and or mount?
The .243 barrel shoots quite well. I'd like to get it to point of aim, so I can carry it the bush. I think it would make a fun bush gun.
