now let your eyes age a bit so you need an optic and move to your left hand - where's your model 89 now?- I had a HAMMERELI that I had to get rid of when my eyes went funny-

Still got mine (bad eye's & all ;))

Beretta's ultimate .22 pistol IMHO was the 87BB.

Here is mine with factory 6" target barrel professionally cut and crowned to 106". It's the best gun I own, but the OP probably won't find many like it for sale so will have to settle for a Neos :(

Hi Shelby,

I tried to locate a 6" barrel a couple of years ago to trim, no luck in any US websites. The gun itself is somewhat easier to locate from time to time.

I agree the 87BB is a great gun, when I had one I would put a brick through it once a week. Sadly traded it to a gun shop for a ruger new model blackhawk in .357 made in the 200th year of american liberty. I been looking for another one for years. I was shooting my long barreled beretta 71 yesterday and I think its a great little gun too.

Any competent gunsmith or machinist can easily cut, recrown and cold blue the muzzle of your barrel Bill. Mine was done by Steve Milton of Precision Arms and Gunsmithimg in King City, Ontario.
