hi all, like the title says this is a stupid question but i'm trying to educate myself, what is the difference between trap & skeet? btw i got to shoot clays for the first time last week as my father in law gave me his rem 870, i absolutely LOVED it!!! wore the recoil bruises like a badge of honor lol if i knew how to i would post the video of it from phone lol

oh yeah & that 870 is minimum 25 yrs old, how do i tell what kind of choke it has?
thanks in advance for any info

If you're left with highly visible bruising the gun doesn't fit or you're shouldering it wrong. Foot placement makes a big difference in how recoil is felt. If you get a chance go to a skeet or trap range and watch how the experienced shooters stand. I'm sure people there will help as well. May even let you try their guns to see what fits you best. Good luck. Clay games are addictive

thanks for the info guys! i saw those posts about shooting into space?? really? lol what forum is that thread in cuz i love a good laff, btw, been looking online for deals on shells, so far the best i found was $53/250 rds from one of the sponsors website, any suggestions?
ya i'm kinda addicted lol

$53 is probably the best price for a flat that you will find, unless they are on sale.
Lawry's shooting sports in Caledonia has Federal for $52.95
and theres a place by the Ancaster Fair Grounds that has Winchester for the Same price.

Hummason's in Ancaster (905-648-3430) have the Winchester Super Target shells at $52.95 as stated above. Usually, Hummason's, Lawry's and Al Flaherty have the best prices.

Local shops must only sell ammo to people who are desperate, I dont think I could bring myself to spend $70 for a Flat. I just bought 5 flats at Lawry's the other day, cost about $300 after tax, tax being the cost of an entire flat.
