What do you mean? Any caliber change on a pistol needs to be submitted to the registrar. The handgun registry would show it being a .22lr.

Just to respond to this, caliber changes do not automatically require submission to the registrar.

Section 4(2)

(2) Subject to section 5, the Registrar shall attach to a registration certificate that is issued in respect of a firearm the condition that when the type, action, calibre or gauge of the firearm is modified, the holder of the certificate shall advise the Registrar of the modification,

(a) if the modification is intended to be permanent, within 30 days after the modification; and

(b) if the modification is not intended to be permanent but still exists 30 days after it is made, without delay after that period.

It only requires reporting if the modification is intended to be permanent or if a temporary modification exists 30 days after it has been changed.

Only 4(1) mandates notification to the registrar (registered firearms restricted or prohibited) when you

• Convert a frame/receiver to discharge ammo
• Make any mod to a converted auto
• Change the classification of the registered firearm
• Convert a firearm into a non firearm.

To get it registered to you with a competitive exemption you still need to change the registration to 22 first. You just do not have to do it after for every temporary change.
