the advantages are its yours. you know who has used it,and how many times its been used. you know where it is, hopefully.

Another advantage is if you were to have custom dies made they would be good for every time you would rechamber with this reamer.

You can rechamber to your specs. Make your own dies to precisely match the chamber you just cut. Use the Reamer to create your own precision chamber checker. Machine some steel to make your own comparator absolute zero if so desired. When you wear out one barrel, you can purchase another blank, and your dies and everything else you made will work.
Oh, you will also gain perfect chamber trim length on your brass

When or if you damage it you don't have to replace it for the lender. If you need a reamer more than once buy your own lending out tools usually ends up bad.
