Hi guys and gals,:)

I'm looking for 2 styles of shot guns but haven't decided on which one.:shotgun: For sure, NO semi's. I'd rather stick to a pump action You can always count on it. Nothing overly high in $$$$$.

Here comes your help guys. I'm looking at a shorty 12" to 14", min. of 4rds. The other 18" to 20", min. of 8rds, for matches. I'm looking at the, Grizzly, Mossberg and Remington. Which one would you pick for tactical & the other for matches or do you suggest another model? Would you rather have one and just change barrels? Your suggestions and why for barrels, sights (no battery stuff), chokes, stock, forend grips and any other accessories?

Thanks in advance to all who help out.

for the 18" tactical you cant beat an off the shelf rem 870 tactical they hold 7+1
the only thing ive done to mine is add trak lock sights.

My buddy just bought a Mossberg 590a1 and likes it a lot. The ghost ring sights are great. It's next on my wish list.

Nope; you're wrong!

Don't you mean Norinco HP9 (rem 870 copy).

No, I mean Norinco HP9-1 since the -1 signifies the 14" barrel the OP is looking for, which has the same action as the 870, since it's a copy/clone and most/many parts are interchangeable.

Mossy 590A1,the 870 always stays in the safe........can never get over the lever thing you have to move to load shell's,Mossberg does not have that.

you really want one of them russian 23mm pump action shoot guns i think thats what a 4 bore that will make any bad guy go away... as well as your hearing for a while

If you got a good butget look at the fabarms nice guns worth it for the price
if your looking at an 870 examine it in person some of them are smother then others i found the fabarms to be beuties they can even have assisted loading which is nice

personaly right now i am considering either a fab arm or possibly a remington Police the nice thing about the fabarm i looked while volentiring at the CSSA's both was it came with ghost rings and fiberoptic dot sights it was really nice and easy to point i don't normaly like some pistol grips but the fabarm was an exeption to that very comfortable

Thanks AlderTK,

I was looking at these 3 because alot of CGN'ers have them. I've noticed alot of them are selling their grizzlies, Mossbergs and the Expresses. Is that a bad sign?
Fabarms never really had any info on them. I'll check them out.

If you got the money, and you want a no-nonsense pump-action shotgun, get an 870 Police. It is one of the highest quality and reliable pump-action shotguns you can buy today. You can order it in many different configurations from Wolverine Supplies, and probably from many other of the sponsoring dealers. If you want to get a short barrel, you can order a 12.5" barrel from Dlask Arms.

Because of the gun's popularity, you'll find countless accessories and modifications. The ability to swap out the barrel and other parts so easily makes the Rem 870 the "Mr. Potato Head" of shotguns. I love mine.

Thanks hafetysazard,

What do you think of the 870 Marine Magnum?
