I have a Lymans Alaskan 2.5x scope with a dot reticule.
So , the question I'm asking is there any value for such a old scope

Yes, but it depends on all sorts of things, like clarity, leaking seals, working turret adjustments, and where you try to sell it.

I see similar and identical scopes at gun shows, with price tags on them from $25 to $50. They usually sell for $20-$30, unless the vendor is using them for table cover, then they go back home with the vendor.
 
I have a Weaver V8 which has external adjustments. The mounts fit standard Weaver bases.

In their day, Lyman Alaskans had the reputation for being a very good scope. Demand now would be for a vintage/nostalgic setup.
 
Simulated SMLE sniper rifle with Whitehead pattern mounts and Fecker scope. A Winchester A5 would be the preferred scope.
