I would like to get an iron flip-up sight that will work with an Eotech HWS and an A2 fixed front sight.

Don't know if there is such a sight that will be high enough for the A2 fixed front sight and co-witness correctly with the Eotech holo.

Thanks in advance for your advice and recommendation.

The A2 sight is only .04" shorter than an F marked sight, so any standard flip up sight should work, though your FSP will likely stick out a bit once zeroed. There are taller FSPs you can install to make up the difference if it bugs you.

Thanks Paladin308, sorry don't know what an f marked sight is.

Any recommended BUIS sight manufacturer and version?

Wolverine has two versions of the G&GG BUIS, locking detent and ranging aperture. Don't know which one of these would be a better choice and for older eyes?

There are many other brands but I have just seen pictures and don't know about any of them but learning now.

There are two front sight base types for AR15s, the A2 FSB and the F marked FSB. The A2 FSB is for carry handle uppers and the F marked FSBs are made for flattop uppers, you can tell which one it is because it will have an F stamped into it (hence F marked). As for rear sights, there are a bunch out there, so it really depends on personal preference. My personal recommendation would be to get one that locks in the up position, as it kinda sucks when you bring your gun up expecting irons, but they're not there because your gear knocked them down... anywho, both Troy and YHM make very well regarded sights, though GG&G wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Thanks again. I haven't found a dealer that carries Troy BUIS.

I have been told that the GG&G have one of the lowest profiles and the locking detent version as you suggest would be the better choice.

You don't really need to worry about low profile unless you intend to run a scope, your rear sight wont interfere with an Eotech as there's nothing hanging off the back of the sight for it to interfere with. Just pick something decently durable, well made, and with looks and a price you can live with.

I imagine most flip-up rear sights should allow co-witnessing with an EOTech HWS and fixed front sight. You'd probably have a harder time finding a normal sized BUIS that won't co-witness. I like the KAC BUIS but I'm not sure if they're worth the considerable markup. I've heard good things about the Magpul BUIS and they're pretty cheap. Not sure if they'll co-witness though as I don't have firsthand experience with that.

It doesn't say whether the Troy sights and even the Di-Optic are locking detent, does someone know? I am interested in the Di-Optic, the regular Troy and the GG&G probably in that order but really not having tried any it seems like a coin toss.

Take a look at the Diamondhead sights.

Yes, the Troys lock in the up position. The only difference between the standard and DOA is the aperture. CTCS was good to order from as is OSTS. No worries with either. Just be sure if you get a Troy DOA to use it with an M4/16 front. Its works off the shape of the sight ears much like HK/round aperture. Using the DOA rear with an HK front is very distracting for me (round peg in a square hole)

I've got the locking detent on two rifles, for me it's easier, just the 2 apratures,no need to over think it.
I wouldn't mind trying one of the ranging ones, but they do seem a little busy.

I have a couple sets of Midwest Industries Flip up's and the rear will co-witness with my front sight post and EoTech perfectly. Also have Magpul front and rear on a different AR that co-witness no problem. You should be fine with most BUIS.
I have a set of Troy BUIS I got off eBay that also work.
Good luck.
