Hi all.
I have been looking for a restricted Luger for a long time and one such piece that has caught my attention is a 6 inch barrel Stoeger stainless steel Luger. I found one recently and the fellow selling it first asked for $750... and then $850. Aside the annoyance of the rise in price, I was excited to finally have found such a nice pistol until I started doing some reading about... Apparently despite being an accurate copy of an original Luger supposedly modeled off a real German 1942 piece, I have been reading that this pistol is made with cheap soft steel which begins to deform after 100 or so rounds through it and it literally starts beating itself to death as you fire it. Its parts are also not interchangeable with real German parts. But for every nightmarishly negative review/testimonial I have read about it, I have also read reviews praising it as well as a real German Luger and claiming it has no such problems. I'm confused now. Can anyone help me out if they have heard anything about this specific pistol or - even better - have had actual experience with it? Should I buy it or wait to find a cheaply priced authentic German Luger shooter. I don't want to buy a lemon for my first restricted. Thanks for reading.
