working on a AR pistol lower, need some advice on LPK to complete the lower. A few suggestions appreciated regarding manufacturer and where to source a full kit to complete the lower.

Upper is a PSA 7.5" from IRG, includes BCG, charging handle etc.
Lower is a stripped NEA from SFRC.

Any advice on quality differences in parts kits is greatly appreciated.

For a quality trigger on a budget I would go with an ALG enhanced single stage. It's all nickel boron coated and has a really nice break. If I recall correctly mine breaks around 6.5-7 pounds which is very nice for a rifle that won't be used for target shooting off a bench all it's life. Cost was $77 at Tier One Armory in Edmonton.
You'll need to pick a pistol grip of your liking, I prefer the Magpul MOE+ or the ERGO rubber overmolded grips.
A buffer tube, spring, and buffer are also a consideration. With a 7 inch barrel you will probably want a slightly heavier buffer, I ran a Spikes ST-T2 buffer in my 6.5 inch and it tamed the carrier velocity nicely, with a standard carbine buffer it was resetting the trigger so hard it would hurt my trigger finger, the Spikes buffer fixed that. It doesn't have to be the Spikes buffer, any buffer heavier than a standard carbine buffer will do the trick.
I purchased a Daniel Defense LPK for my last lower build which can be had for $120-$160 depending where you go and what out dollar is doing which came with most of what was needed but the trigger was so gritty I replaced it with the ALG unit after a couple months. I'm sure it would smooth out if I continued to use it but I wanted to try the ALG one anyway.
Your choice of stock should finish off the project.

Good luck

Exactly the kind of reply I was hoping for!!!...Thanks very much!

You're welcome.

Don't get suckered in by the guys that will come on and tell you to buy an adjustable gas block. An adjustable gas block just complicates things and is more useful for a guy tuning his competition rifle to his lighter than normal handloads and light weight BCG who is looking to minimize recoil for faster follow up shots.
In certain rifles it's a great tool but for the average guy it's a solution to a problem that wasn't there to begin with.
I've owned more than 15 AR's ranging from 6.5 inch through to 20 inch and none of them have had an adjustable gas block and all of them were able to be tuned to run nice and smooth.

Does the AXTS Rapter charging handle in 7.62 (.308) also work with 7.62x39? Might be a stupid question but I can't find anything referring to x39, only x51.
Thanks for the replies.

No, the .308 Raptor will not work with a 7.62x39mm AR. The .308 receiver is longer (due to the longer mag-well) than the standard receiver length which is used for 7.62x39mm ARs. You want a 5.56/.223 Raptor for your 7.62x39mm AR build.

I'm looking to run the exact same setup as the OP, and was told to run a H2 buffer. I see Questar has a buffer package (Tube, spring, and buffer) which includes the T2. Think that'd work as well, more or less, than the H2?

The ALG Enhanced is a great rig, have it on my 10.5 Spikes.

and here's the final product. NEA Pistol Lower, DD Lower Parts Kit, PSA 7.5" Upper 7.62x39, AXTS Raptor Charging Handle, ALG Trigger, MVB ARC Stock, Bushnell TRS25 with Vortex 3x Magnifier. Everything sourced from CGN Sponsor Sites!

Very nice, how do you like the MVB Arc, is it worth the money? Trying to decide between that or the NEA.I figured the MVB would run $800 with bcg and NEA less than $400.

MVB has a nice feel to it, have never run the NEA but the seller for me was the non-captive carrier. So the stock will "stay in family" and perhaps move around occasionally to other lowers. They're all pricey but at that point I couldn't turn back.
