Advice on a new varmint rig

I just ordered a 12LVP in .223 and am looking to rebarrel it to 20 VarTarg. I'm still researching the caliber to see if it's what I want. I'm definitely looking forward to getting this rifle.

I have a 20 Vartarg Improved reamer on order. I'm going to do a slightly longer wildcat with it. Something like 20x40 Imp just for fun.

His post was 3 years ago , I hope he got the Vartarg by now. :D

I'd be interested in that, though!

Me too actually. Seriously.

But I could not figure out why the guy before Suputin resurrected the thread.
Some of those guys could be banned, castigated for barrel fraud and who knows what by now. :D

That rifle has come and gone. It was a very nice rifle with a 1-7 twist barrel. Bench gun heavy though. Suputin sounds like he's up to something interesting.

CZ 527 is an awesome action. The only downside is the bolt lift.:(
The damn thing is almost straight up in the air.

To clear it, who wants a scope that sits 2" off the rifle.

I'd go Tikka T3 Varmint .223 1-8" twist. Change out the shroud cover and bolt
handle.

I feel like I have been had. I see what looks like a new thread but who checks previous post dates? Oh well.

I am hoping to have my reamer in 3 or 4 weeks. The only complication will be a sizing die which will have to be custom. I use Forster chamber type Ultra Seater so the sliding chambers are easy to make. Otherwise the 20x40 Imp should be a fairly painless wildcat.
