Advice on buying a Lever Action 30/30 and .22 caliber

I think the Henry 22 is the best option because of part availability.
Made in America, so parts are close.
I like the Winchester in 30 30, but have older Marlins in 444 and 4570
So Marlins in 3030 is a good option
There are many chances here to get good deals on older models
of each, if you take your time
 
I have owned a Norinco .22 lever action for 4 years now,picked it up in a CT sale,works great,eats ANY ammo flawlessly,and shoots where its pointed.
30-30 wise I looked at buying used but didn't want to spend $500+ on a rifle that has fired unknown rounds,so I read reviews compared prices and bought myself a Mossberg 464 laminate stock and marine cote,it shoots great,cycles great,and only cost me $589 in Cabelas.
Some people would rather spend $500+ on a used rifle just because it has a certain name,those guys really miss out on some well priced firearms.
 
Win 94/22lr 1970’s model in super condition. The thing is accurate and smoothest action ever. Would not look else where for a rimfire Lever gun. Spoiled now
 
Since you’re looking to use a scope, the Marlin 336 in 30-30 would be my choice, with a low power scope. Perfect bush gun. As for the 22, a Henry is a great gun for the money. If you feel like spending more money try to find a used Winchester 9422 or buy the Browning BL22.

Henry on the 22. Picked up an octogonal barrel one last year, slick as butter.
Marlin336 on the 3030. Side loading, and side eject. Scope mounting made easy.
