Advice on choosing an 870 or clone needed.

870 and the 590 would be the only shotguns id bet my life on.
Nother wrong with the norinco, but you have to do the same things to them that you have to do to all norinco guns.
Chuck 50% of the parts rebuild the gun fit new parts by hand then you have a gun thats as good as the gun that they copyed.
HP1 14ich is the only good deal because of the 14" barrle.
other wise just buy the real remington 870.
870 winse hands down, lots of things you can do to them and parts are cheap.
They are the #1 sold and use shotgun in history, not because theyare cheap, but because they are good.

How much are 870 Police 14" guns going for new and used these days?

Usually see 14" REM barrels for around $299-399. Actual 14" REM builds usually fetch around $800. New ones are rare, as you can no longer have them imported out of the states/and or they only sell the wee ones to Mil/Leo.

You can now also get 12.5" and 14" barrels from Dlask for around $299, I believe.

Rohann,

This belongs in the "Being in the right place at the right time!" thread:D

Congrats on the $150 Wingmaster...I missed a good deal like that last year:mad:
Thanks :D! I didn't really know much about firearms when I first bought. I figured "good quality pump shotgun, $150...ah why not". And man am I glad I did that.

And not many parts available, but they never needed parts, even 870's eat ejectors and cartridge guides.

If I had to pick a new shotgun to use in protecting my family or self, it would be a 870WINGMASTER, one of the nickeled ones, and not an express!

The reason I never bought a marine magnum? You'd be stuck with just the one barrel in that finish...wheras with any of the others a world of choices. I like the stainless/nickel finish though...but I never saw a 14" in it, never saw a rifled barrel in it, etc.
