I would appreciate any suggestions on drop-in carbine length HG. I'm looking for something that is:
- solid as drop-in could be (f.e. has tightening screws)
- top rail extends to upper receiver
- slim, light and preferably m-lok

It looks like Leapers UTG PRO MTU001SSM would do the job, however I don't see any vendor in Canada having them, not many in US either and it's ITAR controlled item. Maybe there's anything similar?

Thank you, this is very close to what I am looking for.

Why, because it's totally opposite to what I need?

It's not free float - but neither is the one you posted. It can take moe rail pieces to attach stuff like the rail you posted. It is made by a quality manuf unlike the rail you posted.

Seems like a good suggestion to me.

I'm not looking for "any HG replacement", not looking for free float either. Continuous top flat rail and lightweight slim fit is what important to me. UTG Pro line is not UTG airsoft from several years back, and I wouldn't rate modern Magpul as high as many do.

I'm open to suggestions about HGs with different price tags, however they should fulfill my requirements, not just be "made by Magpul, and there's only one God and Magpul is the prophet of God".

Drop in rails aren't as popular as it used to be, Midwest, Troy, DD and KAC still makes them in the rail version, but none of them have updated their design over to M-Lok or key mod. The only other choices left is either Magpul or Strike but I am getting an impression you don't like plastic.

If you are set on the Leaper/UTG buy it from Irungun US, they have it listed for $71 US.

i have a 7inch dd omega x rail kicking around somewhere i would be willing to part with. message me if you are interested.

Why do you need a continuous top rail or all the attachment points? Midwest industries has plenty of options.

Why do you want cheap junk?
It is not a question of price or quality. I am able to find reviews and feedback on the product and make decision. The question was about what kind of hanguard could fill outlined functional requirements and I provided UTG Pro as example. Your suggestion of Magpul MOE does not fit at all.

I've run out of space on my M&P Sport II. Backup rear sight is too far back and in the way of grabbing charging handle. Also I wanted to change HG to something slimmer.
Who's MI retailer here? Wolverine?

If you intend to move your optic forward so it bridges between the receiver and a handguard, then you will need a free float handguard not a drop in non FF model. A cheaper and easier solution would be replacing your MBUS with the steel low profile MBUS pro version.

That's a great suggestion, thank you.

I'm just going to ask the question, why not just free float the rail and get something that you won't end up replacing in the near future? A drop in rail is going to be a ##### to keep in zero if you're going to be mounting your optic on it.
I'm not saying you need a geissele MK8, but I'd strongly recommend you look st a free float system.

I wanted to have simple solution, I understand drop in has disadvantages however its pro is simplicity of installation. FF requires couple of tools I don't have. I might settle with change of rear sight as for now and opt for FF in the future as I feel i would be proper solution in the long run.

MI does two piece free float handgaurds that only require you to cut off the delta ring to install, no special tools.
