I have had my PAL for a few years now and have finally saved up enough to purchase my first firearm. I am planning on building a precision rifle mostly for shooting at the range and on crown land. I will not be using it for hunting. My range is a 200m range, but I would obviously be shooting further on crown land, maybe up to 500 - 800. Here is my build so far:
Remington 700 Barreled action - 24" / .223 / 1 in 9
MDT LSS Gen 2 Chassis
MDT Skeleton Carbine Stock SCS-Lite
MDT Buffer Tube
MDT Pistol Grip
MDT Polymer Magazines
Vortex Crossfire II Riflescope - 3-9x40mm Dead-Hold BDC
Vortex Pro Series 1-Inch Riflescope Rings
I have decided to go with .223 instead of .308 since it appears to be much cheaper, and .308 won't be much of an advantage to me at the ranges I will be shooting at.
Does this sound like a good idea? Any advice is appreciated.
