..... start with that in production and when you want to move up to standard.....

WTF! I didn't realize that IPSC divisions were hierarchical.
Maybe you should tell Adam Tyc to stop wasting his time in lowly Production Division and move up to Standard or Open.![]()

Open is far too exculsive......you have to be asked to join.![]()
Other than the fact that most of us are old and therefore half blind (hence the scope), it isn't a special club. He was kidding. Please dont tell me the ipsc thing is an old boys club
Iam definatly going to be doing my black badge course soon, but looking at my pistols I have in .40 s and w(thats the round I want to use), I feel I need something new for this, I got a 96 berretta, an xd tactical in .40,and a norinco np 58, but I iam seriously looking at 3 other pistols for my ipsc shooting, and it will be in .40 smith and wesson.First is the para p16 40 limited, second is the bul transmark M5 1911 style and the third some of you may laugh, is a browning high power in .40 .I need some info from the ipsc guys about my choices based on if they own any of these three pistols and how they like them the bull M5 fits my hands oh so sweet, and love the idea of the heavy barrel setup but i have never had the chance to use one to see about accuracy or reliabilty,Ive shot a high cap para and it seems to suit me well and from the results I got with only running a couple of mags out of it,I know we could be come one with each other lol,now for the browning ive shot a few browning high powers and can honestly say i love the way they feel and iam quite good with them but they have all been in 9mm so any advice based on experiance guys, also the best place to get what iam looking for and if any one has anything like this they may want to wheel and deal on I may be interested
yes they are awsome but also make my bank account feel ill lol i should say iam looking at only shooting production class for the first year or two as i probably wont be able to make it out to alot of matches due to my job just want to get out there and do it with out breaking the bank and dont really like the double action triggers on the automatics or i would just use my 96
you do make a valid point and i got a s**t load of mags for the 96 and my xd 10 plus for each iam just not really enjoying the triggers on either of them nor the sights especially on the xd any place to find good sights and trigger kits for the xd pistols or the berreta i did check out the tangfoglio sigt just a minute ago and they look pretty good iam headed west this week and will be in calgary and edmonton any stocking dealers there i can go check one out as for shooting 40 its because iam set up to reload for it and have probably 8000 rounds of brass to get me started that and i like the calibre
thanks for the input but easy on my skill level i bought my first pistol at age 18 and iam 41 now and yes i can shoot lol i may not be in the top 5 at a match but i feel once i get into things i wont be near the bottom either lol
no iam looking for advice to make a good choice based on some others expreience,i just figured there would have been someone using the 3 i had my eye on is all, i may take your advice and use my xd or berreta but iam going to buy another pistol just for this, as one guy posted about the tangfoglio i check out the web sight and they look to be a well balanced pistol with a well proportiond grip
cool ive been to shooting edge a few times good bunch of people, but phonix range the first couple of times i was in there they kinda treated me like an idiot, so not really looking to spend my money there. as one fellow said to check out the tangfoglio line and iam impressed by what i see and as 7.62 said if i choose a single action trigge,r i will be in standard division which i can live with, so that tangfoglio match looks like a sweet gun, just got off the phone with double tap sports sound like good place and he dosent have any in stock but seeing as iam working out of brampton, mississauga is just around the corner he is gonna bring his in and let me check it out,but judging from the decent attitude of double tap iam retty sure he is gonna get to sell me a couple of my planed purchases this year
Please dont tell me the ipsc thing is an old boys club ,I have this problem at my home range up in northern ontario, the old fudds wont let us younger guys do anything,if this is the case ill take a big step back from the ipsc thing right now, and as for being low on funds, I have no problem dropping a couple grand getting, holster, mag pouches, 1200 hundred or so on a decent gun,I just prefer to buy something that was purposly built for the game,I have been shooting since i was 6 years old with my parents, bought my first pistol when I was 18, I may not have been involved in the organized parts like ipsc, but even i know there is gear made specificly for each of the diffrent shooting games, just like you would not show up to an f class shoot with 770 remington, your gonna get your ass handed to you on a silver platter

And you still can't use punctuation properly, if at all...
Grammar comprehension FTW...
God manyou don't find Open. Open finds you when IT thinks you're ready

If you must buy a new gun then STI/SVI is the way to go. cheaper in the long run to buy right in the first place.
