Advice on my experience today hunting squirrel

For me, from what you said, I think you did the right thing. Person sounded upset. You may have startled him/her/them. You apparently didn't see anyone. You had a loaded firearm. You don't know: a) if he was alone, or b) if he was armed and what with, or c) on drugs? crazy? It's often best not to argue with someone when they are upset and one or both of you have a loaded firearm. Kind of like being at the gun club in a similar situation. I would have called the cops and see what they said. If they just said deal with it yourself, I'd go back with a friend or family member both armed ( not a 22) at least a half hour later so they could cool off and tell them they were trespassing, get off my land and do not ever come back ... or something to that effect. Good to post no trespassing signs if haven't already. You should be able to hunt on your own land.

I lived in the GTA my whole life and worked in retail for a while during schools. I have dealt with all forms of nasty people

I relate to the ways you described feeling in a lot of my experiences from the past. The best advice I can give is to be assertive and confident in your speech. I have learned to cope by following the advice mentioned prior, and just by replying with simple logic. Try to speak at a louder volume than you normally would, so you can try to ensure they hear you, that can help.

My wife usually ends of laughing at the things I end up saying back to people now. Generally i treat it as if it is a conversation versus a mild "verbal altercation". If they yelled that at me my scripted responses are generally 1: Who are you? or 2: direct response - No

If they won't tell me who they are, I dont need to care about what they think or say. (If Im acting legally and morally)
If they do and it isnt some LEO or official or someone I need to be made aware of, then I dont need to care what they think or say.

In reality the only thing you are required to do in relation to this and your firearm(s) is ensure your backstop is safe, as until you are aware of how many people are around there may be issues with line of sight. I know this goes without saying but I'd rather that than be taken out of context.

If you own 100+ acres of land and they are aware they dont own that land then who are they to tell anyone anything? lol the nerve of controlling people.

However, after a few hours of hunting in the morning we head back to the truck, which is on the property, and there is another silly pampered broad standing there waiting. She tells us it has been cold and the deer have had a hard time lately and are just hungry... poor things, and if we could leave them alone that would be great.

Hunting is based on conservation. If some species of animals are not hunted, then a larger amount will starve to death. Perhaps with this in the back of her mind she's clearly she's a psychopath lol

lol
I was just training for a competition Sunday and I shot maybe 500 rounds.
Still nothing - I think this was a one-off, maybe the guy was walking his dog or something.

Did you say this person is trespassing on YOUR land and interfering with a legal hunt? Umm I would have that person charged. You cannot defeat their Liberal tears mental illness with tolerance, only an iron fist can wipe them off the face of your own property. I would NEVER tolerate this, it is the very reason society has become what it is, because WE allowed them to take over.
