advice on scopes

looking to buy a scope for my 7mm rifle.Can anyone offer advice on what would be a good buy in the $300 to $400 range?

Leupold VXII, VXIII, good used in the EE?
There were some respectable deals in the EE not long ago.

In that range, I would look to a used Leupold VX1 or VX11. You could likely find a 2-7, 3-9, 4-12. Second choice for me would be bushnell 3200 or a 4200. They are all simple, and all hold zero very well. These are hunting scopes and have different reticle choices to suit the individual nicely.

I was looking at Nikon scopes for my 7mm MAG not too long ago - the clarity seems good and right within your price range. My Zeiss Terra broke after only 8 months of service on my K31 and 7MM

I just picked up a bushnell elite 3-9x40 from WSS for $202 plus the taxes on clearance. I have a few of these scopes and they are excellent value as are the leupold vs 2 line.

Be hard pressed to beat a Leupold FXII 6x36 for the intended purpose. Nice, simple, light, excellent optics.
