I've been asked to provide & operate the shotgun at a shotgun start charity golf tournement. So I figure the Outlaw would be perfect for this - especially if I can manage a double.

because of the area it's in I figure blanks are needed -= but they seem quite pricey. anybody have a good blank recipe and advice on loading these ie any fillers needed? i have a Mec 600 that hasn't been used in years since $40 to $60 flats hit the market, but it could be pressed  into service for this project.

Any and all advice appreciated.

One box of blanks are cheaper than buying components to make your own blanks. I have made blanks with about 20 grains of very fast shotgun powder ( red dot, clays etc.) and hard card wads, topped off with a very good crimp - a rolled crimp is best. Some use corn meal or cream of wheat as a filler, but hard cards are reliable and less messy. The biggest challenge is developing enough pressure for a good report. A good crimp is essential. Slow burning powders are inconsistent. If you price out and order a carton of card wads you will realize one box of factory loaded blanks is probably worth the price, but loading blanks is fun.
