Advise for a big game rifle?

Hi Guys...OP here..nice to see the old tread again. I did buy a rifle after a lot of advise and I settled on a beautiful Savage 99 in .308 with all new wood. Worked out really good with my shooting predicament (right handed but shoots left). Bought it off a guy for $450 and it came with a scope. Since moose season had started, I brought it to a guy who sights in rifles with scopes. I asked him what range it was sighted in for and he told me if I can see it, shoot. Well I picked it up 7:00 in the evening and 5 min. after I left the house the next morning, I had a nice young calf, one shot to the vital area at about 220 yards (according to gps). Overall, I love the look, the feel, power and accuracy of this rifle...Thanks for all your help...Bill
