I have a Sinclair manually adjusted front rest which works OK, but found getting the right position fiddly.
I bought one of the Caldwell rests with the 'joy stick', hoping it would make life easier, but it was a classic 'you get what you pay for', as it wouldn't keep it's position, making shot to shot consistency very difficult.
I'm looking to 'buy once, cry once' at this stage, as I would like to try some benchrest, with my 6BR, as well as some long range (rig to be determined) with an eye to giving F class a go next year. The set up would be used both from the bench, as well as prone.
I'm asking the CGN 'collective consciousness' about their thoughts, experience, and recommendations for a front rest...might as well throw in a request for recommendations on a rear bag as well.
I realize that 'one setup fits all' might not be the best approach, so I"m OK with advise to have two, separate set ups.
Cheers!
