AE 150gr ammo

It's not the Federal primer that's known to be softer than other brands. It's the brass. Only means it doesn't last as long.
Lapua is too expensive. Doesn't have all the importing advantages American made stuff gets from our glorious leaders.
 
Well, federal does have a reputation for softer primers, and this isn't limited to this load, however they also can have soft primers. I would listen to 45ACPKINGS (Thomas) advice. AE 308 likely won't blow up each and every time, but there are better alternatives.
 
I love My American eagle stuff in my m14, she eats it and ive had very little problems cleaning it, like 1,2 patches its clean as a whistle. Id avoid hornady steel match rounds, literally like 30 patches to get the bore clean and had a ton of misfires.
