AE 40 Grn .22LR. How is it?

What are you putting them through?

I adore my 64's but, they are ammo fussy. They;ll eat AE like candy. I don't shoot well enough to really differentiate between AE and, Fed Champioin 525 packs and, the 525's are less $'s(AE is Federal)

I'm envious of the thunderbolt target...the only rem ammo I've had luck with are the sub sonics...

I shoot alot of Lapua center X but in moderation, American Eagle 40 grain in excessieness. I never had much luck with the 38 grain hollow point stuff though.

I built a Ruger 10/22 Tactical target with a DLask barrel. It shoots the 38 grain American Eagle like match ammo. :D. The 40 grain solids are decent but it really excels with the hollow points.

The American Eagle ammo is OK. Some rifles will shoot it very well. If your rifle shoots the 40 grain stuff really well, then consider also the Federal gold 40 grain 911 load. It's the same only the manufacturing tolerances are higher. That way target or gopher you won't have to worry about big changes when changing from the AE to the Federal.

I use the AE stuff a lot. Accuracy depends on the firearm. It seems to be one of the better lower cost plinking ammo.
