I don't get it. JAE stocks are not $694 on their website, but the Canadian dealers, last I checked, were charging $1650 for the same stock. That's almost a 200% markup over Us RETAIL pricing???

Meanwhile SAGE stocks are coming to Canada for only $850 or so, which is only about 20% more than the price of the US retail pricing.

Why the huge discrepancy? I know some dealers are going to greak out that I would question the return on their efforts, but the SAGE is milspec and requires as much if not more paperwork and effort to export as the JAE, so I cannot believe the present pricing is very reflective of fair effort in terms of export paperwork and currency differences.

Am I missing something here?

You should download their order form from JAE. You will find that EVERYTHING is an option, and it adds up real quick. Side rail was a couple of hundred, bottom rail was similar, QD swivell studs cheekrest adjustable butpad, do you want a thumbwheel to adjust the cheekpiece and butpad. Compare the prices for barebones stocks. The other thing is that it takes months to get an order. I ordered a rem short action stock a couple of years ago when the dollar first hit par, and when I cancelled the order a year later it had gone up 20% (Idon't think the RSA stocks have hit Canada yet and that is more than 2 years). One thing I have to say is You won't be dissapointed they are a fabuolous stock, but I paid $800 for my m14 stock a couple of years ago and I really don't think I would spend $1600 on it. There were a couple on EE just recently

Just checked it out for myself. The bare stock is Like $699. Once you put on sort of the minimum options you are looking at $1280. 30% off on the options is a pretty good deal wheather or not wolverine wil give those prices, you will have to call them. It's like a car, the price they say in the ads is never the price you get on the bill.
