Debating on buying a lower to slowly build on. Am looking for opinions on the quality on the Aero precision products? How do their lowers compare to say colt?

Thanks

Aero is top quality. They are an OEM manufacturer for many AR15 companies. All of their parts (especially their lowers) I have measured with micrometers over the years showed excellent respect to blueprint dimentions, rarely having more than + or - 0.001 within the allowable tolerances from the base blueprint measurement. They have excellent quality control.

They are Excellent quality! Have built a few rifles with Aero Precision lowers. Fitment of any milspec small parts kits are equal in ease to any Colt .

My first ar was a aero presicion build. Both upper and lower receivers. Fit and finish is awesome, and very reasonably priced. I bought it from a site sponcer. Don't be afraid of aero precision at all

The diffference, like it says on the website, is pretty much an integrated trigger guard (I'm pretty indifferent about this, altho it IS a stronger solution than a regular seperate trigger guard, but broken trigger guards are unheard of), it does however prevent a 200lbs gorilla with a hammer from breaking one of the lower receiver trigger guard ears during the trigger guard roll pin installation on a regular lower, it has an enlarged magwell to theorically insert mags more easily, and a threaded bolt catch pin instead of a roll pin (I'm also indifferent about this), and an upper receiver tensioning screw that serves no functional purpose besides wearing the rear takedown pin holes at an accelerated rate. Functionally speaking, identical to the basic lower. It's just user preference at this point.

IMHO, it's not worth the extra, but that's just my opinion. They're sold out tho...

I went with the gen 2 lower. Like Dietz said it's maybe not worth the extra money, but either way you can't go wrong. I probably got one of the last gen 2 lower they had lol. Give them a call, websites aren't always up to date

Yes the lower is the restricted part of the rifle. Did they not take your info over the phone? And believe it or not the cfc does the transfer for you. My wife and I both did not have to phone in and complete our transfers. We also bought from a vendor, iam not sure about a private sale. Gunworks told me that this started happening around January this year

O iam sure they will call you. I've never ordered online with, always phone order or went into their store.

Hopefully NB transfer times are fast lol. Here in SK it's typically 24 to 72 hrs. My cousin actually had a transfer done within 3hrs in this province. He got to take his pistol home the same day he bought
