I am progressing toward scratching my itch for a .308 AR rifle. My max budget will be about C$2000, so I'm not looking for a tippy-top end piece.

I see on the Aero Precision site the M5 rifle...I'm looking at the 20" version http:aeroprecisionusa.com/aspx/store/productdetail.aspx?pid=326 It looks pretty awesome.

Does anybody out there have any experience with the AP rifles....I'm talking complete rifles here, not just builds on their upper and lower receivers. I myself have an upper and a barrel and they seem like quality work.

Any comments or news on the quality of their guns?

I have no specific info on AP guns. But here is what I will say: even the people who used to suck at building ARs in the US are pretty good at it now. Bushmaster, DPMS, everybody. The AR market has so many knowledgeable people that even the off-brand stuff usually doesn't need anything beyond tiny, five-minute tweaks. If that.

At this stage of the game, IMO if you run across an AR that doesn't run, you found either a freak accident, or a company that is doing something really weird.

Aero has done so much stuff right that frankly I would be amazed if their complete guns have serious issues.

Gentlemen [I presume]: This question has been rendered moot by my purchase of a DPMS AP4 Panther rifle from IRunGuns. I hope it's good....

I'll still be looking at the Aero Precision site for upgrades...they claim to be fully compatible with the DPMS platform...I guess we'll see.

Congrats! You know you just signed up for range reports and photo shoots
