Was at the LGS yesterday and had a chance to fondle the Aero Survival carbine. It seems well built and didn't feel flimsy. Its modular,...barrel scews off and AR furniture fits. It can be changed from 9mm, to 40 and 45. It comes with a 4x scope and 2 sets of rings,..1 high set, and a lower set. Its kinda like the Just Right 9mm carbine. It had a nice hefty bolt and you can change it to a Left handed shooter as well. Takes Glock pistol mags.
Any one have one, or shoot one, what is your opinion ?
 
Interested to see what people have to say about this one, was following it a while back but seemed a little buggy and accuracy on some of the reviews seemed sub par. Looks like a cool platform if it turns out it can keep up with the cx4, jr etc. probably going to hold out for the left side charging though.
 
Very interested in these myself. I am hoping to try one this weekend. I really want a 9mm AR that uses Glock mags but I think I will be waiting for a while and might as well add one of these until the AR version has an FRT#.

Well I was able to handle these this weekend but I wasn't jumping up and down about it. They seem kinda gimicky and I would most likely only ever run it in 9mm so the barrel swap or take down is not really a selling feature to me. I think they will compete with JR carbine and I may get one but I think I will have to see if I can get an AR handguard over the barrel. A bit more forward area to hold would really go a long way for me as the mag well I find it too close. I did completely take one apart including the lower and this is truely a survival rifle with no extras and just the essentials.

I still may get one but only if I can find a hand guard to work with.

With these rifles I just reminds me too much of my Keltecs and I am not interested in being another Guinea pig or having to fiddle with it each time I use it.

I will wait to see what others reviews come back with.
 
My other note was the trigger. It really should be larger and so should the opening for it. It seems very thin and quite far back with the wide lower and grip.

I think an AR grip will be quite hard to use without a large gap and AA Magpul QD or sling mount mounted under the buffer tube may need modification to work as it will most like imped removal of the lower.

Great concept but so much potential missing.
 
I Got to shoot one in 9mm, and wow what a cool rifle!
Out of the box with a few drops of oil and a pass with the bore snake then off to the range!
fired 250 rounds with 0 issues did a quick inspection, and was surprised how clean it was ,using a blowback system.
The gun worked great for anther 250 rounds, 500 rounds out of a brand new gun with no problems!
Accuracy was very good at 25 yard ( as far as I shot it) ,with elbows on the bench I got a tennis ball size group without trying to hard.
The trigger is very thin but nice, with a long pull and crisp break, a little gritty at first but it got better.
Does not fit in a back pack as well as the Sub-2000, but does everything else better IMHO
And I am a fan of the Kel-Tec.
One thing I really like about this rifle is that it does not make that horrible sound of the bolt and buffer smacking back after every shoot like the Sub2000,
And it is a blast to shoot!
Cant wait for the cal. conversions and back pack to come in!

friend of mine picked one up and he really likes it, only problem was the free scope they include has the value of a free scope... going to replace with something better. I just got to fondle it and I like it. If I didn't want something to break down as small as a SUB2K this would be a good replacement, but I can see one of these in the near future.
 
Handled one of these at the Calgary gun show this Easter Friday, I really liked the weight, balance and slim design of the gun. The only thing that seemed to concern me is the bolt hold.... After the gun was man handled all day at the show, i noticed the bolt would barely remain locked in the hold open slot. A simple bump on the bottom of the gun and "slam" the damn thing would go into battery :0 anyone have this problem with their Aero Survival rifle ??
