Aero Survival Rifle

I saw a picture on the net with the charging handle on the left. I read somewhere that they are going to make the charging handle ambi. For right handed shooter, the charging handle must be on the left. I had hoped this would be a replacement for my sub2000 which is not overly robust and the front sight is utter crap. The weight of the aero is up there, but it's built like a tank. If they get the charginging handle on the left, I will be all over this baby. I won't look at the new gen2 sub2000 that is anticipated in the fall of 2015.

I believe it is ambi, Mild2custom has the 9mm and I have shot it.
I believe he said it was ambi, was more in disbelief how the rifle is so light it almost feels like a paintball gun, but feels built strong.

I'm right handed. Me for the charging handle must be on the right hand side of the firearm. The ASR can only have its charging handle on the right. Case ejection can be either side. I have it set up to eject on the left, into a brass catcher, leaving the charging handle free from obstruction. This is the most optimum configuration for me. BTW, the ASR is a pretty sweet carbine. I just need to find a better sighting system.

is the body of the gun plastic or alloy

Its pretty substantial thickness of aluminum alloy. My guess is its probably stronger/thicker than an AR15 receiver. But... still light as we should expect from a pistol cartridge carbine.

If this is consistently reliable out of the box for all new users, this one will be a winner, and the competition will have to up theur game dramatically. IMO.

How many rounds do you guys figure the ASR will last before having to replace something? Currently stuck between choosing this or the Beretta CX4 for plinking out in the bush.
