Aero Survival Rifle

Quick question: From what I understand Non-Restricted rifle magazines are allowed a max capacity of 5 rounds. So when one uses a Glock 10 round magazine with this ASR wouldn't that be technically 'breaking the law'. I am a handgun guy yet to learn the ropes. Thanks.

Cheers!

Zandu, it doesn't matter what firearm the magazine is used in. If the magazine is not prohibited it's good to go.

The magazine is the controlled part....... just another example of how uneducated the people that drafted the laws were.

The 5 round limit was meant for centerfire semi's but they screwed it up and didn't anticipate things like LAR pistol mags. and pistol caliber carbines that use....... pistol mags.

Great thanks. Was only worried (and still am) that a LEO could turn around and say "You have a non-restricted here with a 10 round magazine for it" and life ruined...

^^^ all good have no worries you are not breaking any law just taking advantage of a loop hole in out retarded firearms laws

Everyone takes advantage of this loop hole not just you'! :)

It's not a loophole, it is a perfectly legal combination.
I'm not able to post the RCMP bulletin atm, but I recommend you look it up and have a copy with you any time you are using the combo.
Not all Leo's are up to date on what is perfectly legal and you can save yourself a huge headache.

It's a "goofhole" as in some goof messed up their intentions.
I guess you don't need to be an expert in the subject to craft and conjure firearms laws.

I'm not gonna complained about 10 rnd mags. However the 5 round limit for hunting would still be in effect no? I can't see too many people hunting with this but it would be good to clarify.
