affordable antique pistols?

affordable antique pistols?, what models should i be looking for. id like to start adding in some antiques into my collection, but everything that catches my eye turns out to be super expensive.
where are people finding these old guns? seems people are bringing some in from the states. a guy at work even told me that he would ask widows at garage sales if they had anything to sell/rid of

any thoughts or ideas

Yes, I have expanded a collection asking at garage sales,farmers mostly in rural areas. You will find there is no such thing as a cheap antique firearm!! Now you can find affordable black powder replica guns that do the same,look the same but only a fraction of the price. Depends on what you want to do with the firearm. Replicas are usually safer to fire than a original, but they also do not retain their value. And they are just as fun to shoot.

Theres been lots of very well priced Antiques in the CGN EE as of late.
Ive seen quite a few at around or even under $1000
ya just gota look everyday and buy fast if its well priced.

if your looking for a $300 antique dont expect much.
$800 to $1200 should get you some type of shooter tho.
Be prepared to reload and hunt for componets as the guns that are easyer to get ammo for tend to be higher priced.

There was a Big 7 inch barreled german 1879 SA reich Revolver with all the reloading componets was for sale for $1200.
Same gun in the USA list at $2000 and up.

I have bought a few really nice guns from members here.
keep and eye on the CGN EE.
