I have a bad astigmatism in my right eye which makes red dots jagged. so I think I'll try a reflex sight for my SR-22 and see how I do with the circles.

what are the options out there that aren't crazy expensive? perhaps hit over their weight? I know of Sightmark, but that's all that's coming to mind right now.

something that allows for magnifiers to be added would be cool too.

thanks! :)

I just bought a fire field from a fellow cgn member. Although I haven't got it mounted yet I'm happy with it. I bought it for use on a 22 Lr. I wouldn't trust it on a center fire. I've used but haven't owned Burris ones. I want to say fast fire but not sure if that's the right name. However they worked good. I have astigmatism but never had any issues with red dots. Actually just last week found out it makes a difference. Try optic planet for the list of manufactures and go from there

hey bry, the astigmatism in my right eye is pretty severe. a red dot looks like a jagged and distorted star. it works, but is mildly distracting, hence why I'd like to use something that provides a circle reticle and see how I do with that.

I just picked up a $159 Bushnell First Strike and $329 Vortex Venom, which I'll be reviewing soon. Still have to sight them in first.

The astigmatism issue isn't much different for me... I see the red dot as a star, with flares out almost every direction. Luckily, going from a large red dot to a reflex red dot, there's no difference in the dot. The star is still good for me, just make sure you have both eyes open and it's greatly reduced (for me anyway).

Here's my red dot on top and my bore sighter on the bottom, of course - they're not perfect through my eyes but they are in the camera's lens.
