So my Zev OZ9 is milled for an RMR optic. Trijicons are worth in excess of $800 new. Holosun $600ish?

Might consider used; but is there a reasonable retailer out there with reasonable pricing?

I hate that I am tempted to sell my Glock 34 to pay for a damned sight...

"Buy once ,Cry once" the Holosun 509t has some nice features the RMR doesn't, I prefer "closed" emitters like the 509t or ACRO.

As someone who was set on a RMR I have changed my mind and will probably grab a Holosun when they are available.

The Holosun is cheaper and seems to have more features. I call that a "Win Win". Anyone who has a Holosun seems to say good things.

To be clear I have nothing against Trijicon but they are a lot of cash for what you get compared to some of the competition.

If you are set on the Trijicon, give the SRO a look too, many prefer them due to the larger viewing window.

It isn’t the brand that I care about, it is the mount. As stated my ZEV OZ9 is milled for an RMR sight. So I would like to get something that will mount onto the gun without modifications.

I find technical specs on optics a bit confusing as none seem to state how they mount.

I know some Holosuns will mount directly on but not sure that all do.

“You get what you pay for” is not at all helpful.

I am more hoping for suggestions as to what other sights may fit and work but be less expensive than an $800 Trijicon,

You will need an optic that will mount the RMR "footprint" plate or directly. The Holosun has an RMR footprint. For a ''cheaper" optic look towards Vortex, Burris, Leupold Deltapoint etc.

I understand the concept. As stated above no sight manufacturer states anything to specifically indicate if their sight has an RMR footprint or not. This is where I am having an issue. I don’t know what sights are RMR compatible and which are not.

I guess there other thing is if some dealers sell below MAP pricing...

So if your slide is "milled" for the RMR, and doesn't use "plates" like for instance the Glock 45 MOS or the Masada, then you need to buy/use an optic with the RMR "footprint" that may just end up being the RMR or the Holosun, or you can use a plate that accepts the desired optic, that will bolt to the RMR "cut" on the slide.

So the "plate" is drilled for the optic and then is mounted to the slide via the plate which is also drilled for the RMR "'cutout"
You either mount the RMR optic directly to the slide? or mount the optic to the plate then to the slide like the Holosun.

the vortex, doc, burrus are different base than the RMR , I like the Votex stuff, have a couple $300-350

You won’t regret an RMR. You can probably find a type 2 on here for ~$700...but it’ll last you forever
