I'm in the market for an affordable sight pusher. I'd like something that will allow me to install, remove and adjust the sights on a variety of pistols without marring the sights or the slides. Does anyone have any recommendations for an affordable sight pusher? A link to a Canadian retailer would be excellent.

Thanks in advance!

Is this the one you're talking about?

That’s fancy, mine didn’t have a bag lol! But yeah those work, the different blocks fit any handgun I’ve changed sights on. Just need a vise to mount it in.

How has it been for you? Does it work alright for rounded slides like an HK? Or just for flat sided slides like a Glock?

Comes with adapters for curved slides but I've never used it. The eBay one looks like it has more adapters for greater compatibility. The VISM one locks down the slide more securely, has built in mm ruler to measure how much you push the sight, no need for wrench to use, and can be secured to a workbench.

Vism one doesnt do fronts just so you all know. The ebay kit prevents the slide from twisting by bottoming out the slide with the lower block

i was in the same boat as OP.
i picked up a cheap-o pusher and it died the 2nd time i used it.

i was thinking about replacing a bunch of my pistol sites and with the black friday sales i ended up buying a couple sites for a couple different pistols so i was trapped, i had to get a decent site tool.

i ended up ordering this from Brownells.
i found it in Canada for $280-$350 but $120US from Brownells even with shipping and conversion i save over $100.

all in i think it cost me like $170.
i have 5 of my own to do and my dad wants me to do 3-4 of his and a co-worker wants one of his done, right there im into this for $12 a pistol and cost to me will just get cheaper every time i use it.
i think its a safe investment.

buy good quality and pay only once, meh.

The reviews on Brownell's indicate that some people had issues with the tool causing the slide to twist. Did you find that it locked the slide down when you used it?

when i was reading the reviews i got the impression that people where not reading and using it properly.

I had one similar to the other one from ebay and it was okay but I did have trouble with it and when I tried to use it on my P320 it would not work (slide wanted to twist out of it) so I ended up getting the one from Brownells like wayupnorth is getting. It worked great holding the slide in place and removing the sights and installing the new ones with no problems, one thing to keep an eye on with this model it to make sure that the pusher is above the slide enough to clear the slide when moving sights so you don't mark up your slide. I did good on my front sight but when removing my rear sight I didn't have it adjusted correctly and put a mark on the slide:bangHead:, thankfully the new rear sight covers it up but still made me mad about marking up the slide a bit. I would recommend the one from Brownells as the better one and I think it will work on a lot of different sights with the least amount of troubles, hopefully this helps.

Was just looking at that, and it says cannot be exported. Has anyone actually got one from them?

If you are wondering about getting one from Brownells I ordered mine from them in August and it came through fine. The one I ordered was the WHEELER ENGINEERING - ARMORERS HANDGUN SIGHT TOOL 100-024-279WB.
