I have often seen people firing their weapons, forget that their VFG was even there. The grip just sits there, forgotten, as their supporting hand moves to the handguard or magwell. My thought is that people revert to whatever is most comfortable/familiar for them under stress.
I have tried various VFGs and the gen 1 AFG and couldnt get used to them, so it is the same for me. I just don't see the value in doing all that work in training myself to use a product I feel offers negligable advantages.
My personal preference is for a gun that is as light and streamlined as possible. Adding more weight and bulk to a gun rarely does me any good. Simplicity is reliability as far as I am concerned.
