Afghan C7

Mod's and CF members please advise if this is touching on OPSEC.
I can't see this being protected due to the fact that I'm not giving any info on any on going operations. It is no secret that Canada gave Afghanistan C7 rifles. I did not reveal any faces, names, dates, and I blocked out serial numbers so it could not be traced to the ANA soldier it was issued to. Thanks drslav for the heads up.

I don't think you've done anything wrong, but then who am I to say. You'll know you've crossed the line when you're presence is requested in the CSM's office:p

Great jab at the Taliban (Jack)!! ROTFL !! :D

Canadian Sig: You are right... ;) It's not worth it.... :nest:

Troll? I'm sorry, I must be missing something. You people actually consider the ANA reliable and loyal to the puppet government surrounding Kabul? Saying anything otherwise would be trolling.

Yes.

interesting way they marked them - I dont consider any of this OPSEC or PERSEC beyond what dummy rounds was willing to give up on himself.

FYI CAG or DevGru does not hide rack number on their guns. The onyl way you'd know who's gun it was from that, was if you had the CQ log, and then you've got more problems.

I agree with Kevin B the Afghan Army guys I worked with were VERY proud to be getting ride of Talibs in their area. The very few that knew some english had horror stories about the Taliban. The one young guy at the FOB I was in was the last in his lineage because of the Talibs and was willing to fight and die to his words through the terp "rid the world of Talibs." he was quite proud of his C-7. Not only were they proud they were quite professional in their actions and the way they carried themselves.
Oh....I don't know something to do with the mentors they have?!?!?

From what I read, the Afghan police seems to be the big problem, not so much about the army.

Sf, the police are a bit of a problem, but also remember these guys were not paid for in excess of 6 months so they took to bribes and strong arming. Not making excuses for them. DEFINETLY not defending them, just givng insight as to why they are the way they are. They lack training and guidance as well.

The ANP problems are systemic, much like the IP.

Hopefully chnages in their training, recruiting, and oversight will correct them, but likely no time soon.

I was actually surprise how some of the ANA were very disciplined. I also heard stories similar to yours. There was ANA weapons instructor that would put some PLQ qualified instructors to shame. Saying that, not all people are natural instructors and that does not mean their not good soldiers.
