There is an outfitter in Peace River (Gary CHECKNITA) and he would do a fine waterfowl hunt for you.

As for deer, I would save my money and head out myself into the area north of Peace River. Buy a $15 Municipal District map for the area (MapTown in Edmonton) and give some of the landowners a shout. You would be surprised at the access you can get.

There are no "cheap" hunts for Whitetails in Alberta. You will start at $4000 and go from there.

Yeah, he is a good outfitter....NOT. He is charged with 33 counts himself, 33 counts against Goose Masters (his outfit) and 33 charges against Goose Pro Inc. for over bird limits and others.

As for a guided deer hunt, it will cost you quite a bit as mentioned and if you can find an outfitter with openings. My guess is most would be booked up already and maybe into 2009.

I would say, find an area close to home, talk to land owners way before hunting season starts for permission, and go from there. Get a buddy to go with you and maybe he can spend more time in the field spotting to help you out.

Try within an hours drive radius of the city. Camrose or maybe towards Drayton Valley.

Didn't know that..........he hunts alot around the Fairview area and the guys really seem to think he has a great outfit.

But I guess if he is getting charged, perhaps MightyPeace has a good point. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I wasn't aware. I had only heard good things about him.
