After 3 years, my long range M25 (M14) dream build is done!

So you put all these together at home ? This rifle is tight. Seems to me everything you spent on it has paid off. Congrat!

Wow. That is one beautiful rifle! How far have you taken her?

Farthest I've shot her was 600yds. It held 9" at 600 for 15 shots of 178gr A-Max and 6" at 600 with 5 rounds of 175gr SMK's. I've been able to hold roughly 1 MOA groups at 100, 200, 300 and 600 yards. Next step is 1,000 yards.

What is the total weight with everything how it is now?
As noted at the end of the first post: 17lbs, 10oz.

Yes, I put the whole rifle together by myself, including headspacing and cutting the chamber. It's the rifle I used for my "How To Build an M14" video. It's the first rifle I ever built from the ground up. I've since put 6 more rifles together for myself and other people and I'm starting another in a couple of weeks. It was a very satisfying process.

Beauty rig! Did you do anything to run the heavier weight projectiles? NM grooved piston? I always thought that anything over 168r was pretty rough on the gas system?

This isn't just good, this is amazing! I plan on buying an M14 and it's pretty much going to be the only centerfire rifle I plan on owning and I want to mod the hell of out it.

Can this be made with a Norinco M14 as a base?

Thanks! Sure, you just need to use a conventional scope mount since mine is made into the receiver.

What cheek rest is that?

Also, if you don't mind my asking, what would a setup like that (minus the JAE-stock) run for?

The cheek rest is part of the chassis. It's detachable too.

The total package, as seen there is in the neighborhood of $7,000 USD. The actual retail price of the scope is $1,600 USD. The scope rings are about $150. The complete barrelled action cost me $2,700 and I saved some money on parts by shopping around. Add $175 for the Shooting Sight EBR trigger and another $225 for the bipod. The chassis cost $2100 with the cheek engraving, $1,900 without the cheek engraving. They are supposed to send me some titanium locking inserts when they make another run. That alone costs another $350.

So around $4,625 USD, if you scored all the parts and built the rifle yourself. If you paid a gunsmith to build this, I imagine it would cost considerably more.

Very nice TonyBen! Two thumbs up! What scope & rings are you running on her?
