kind of a confusing topic
all the searching I d don't really explain much of anything
except they have a claim to fame of being the best made choke tubes
don't really explain the functions and why they think they are the best
so
i'm looking for a good choke tube to shoot black cloud ammo
and one to shoot non black cloud ammo
a mid to long range pattern
who uses what ?
and why?
and what is the reason you such a device?
do they make much of a difference from factory supplied choke tubes that come with yer gun?
i'm using a browning gold 3 inch 30 inch barrel

Well - The wad in the Black Cloud does all the work, so a relatively open choke is best - it wont disturb the wad. Otherwise, you can use a tighter restriction. I haven't found any particular advantage with the high end chokes, as witnessed at the pattern board. If you intend to switch chokes in the field, extended chokes are preferred.

2 questions. 1. Why do feel that Browning supplied the gun with inferior choke tubes? 2. Does the patterns you shot at the pattern board agree with your theory that they aren't sufficient for what you are using the gun for?

only one choke tube came with my gun when I bought it
as well I have another gun that only has one choke tube unfortunately they are both improved cylinder chokes

I had a patternmaster code black goose in my supernova. I sold it to a buddy and bought an a400 and am looking for a new choke tube. Iam going to shoot it awhile with the factory modified before I buy a new one, but am looking at the new mojo chokes or a code black duck.

I only went aftermarket in my sx3 for extended tunes that are knurled for ease of switching between IC and MOD when duck hunting. Both are cabelas brand made by Carlson's. I haven't caught on to they hype of blindside or black cloud. I shot a box of black cloud. It destroys the meat in birds and rips it apart. I pretty much stick to fast steel.

Is it for steel? What distance are you planning to shoot and what is the choke restriction? What size of shoots are you planning to use?
My factory choke IM swelled in my barrel after the second season (shooting mostly 3" Kent fast steel B and BB at 1550fps). Then I bought two terror chokes one full and the other in IM constriction. The full choke swelled in my barrel right after the first day of hunt (I was using fast steel B at 1550fps). The IM choke did hold a little bit longer and it swelled at the end of the season when I start using 1630fps, #B loads. As I come to know later, these pieces of junk were made by 4120 steel which is inferior to 17-4 SS used by a number of other manufacturer. Another contributing factor is the fact that third party chokes are not done not based on your barrel specific dimensions.
I am using now Carlson extended M choke and if this choke fails, I plan to go with slower loads.
Best luck with your chokes

this is very interesting
I use mainly BBB or T shot between 1550 and 1635 ,1750 fps
my 10 gauge I use a wad wizard choke tube t shot mainly around 1550 fps
my 12 gauge I just bought one (browning gold) it came with only a modified factory choke tube
most of my shooting is goose shooting out to 45 yards max
would like a few different option for choke tubes but basically know not much about them and the quality and functions I use black cloud snow goose BBB shot or t shot or BBB shot in my 12 gauge average 1635 fps
and a mixture of drylock t shot or black cloud BB shot around 1350 to 1550 in my 10 gauge
both guns are browning golds

I might buy a couple chokes if I could find them in Canada.

Remington Pro Bore cylinder, flush or extended
Remington Pro Bore dispersion
