Not a bad looking tire, hows the tread depth??

I have seen the Kenda Executioners but they are premium priced at $467.80 for a set the same sixe as above. You could almost go to Lite Radials for that $$. GOOD lookin tire thou.

Dont know where you are looking at tires, but when I bought mine they were cheaper than everything else mentioned here. I paid $320(just looked at my reciept) for 4. Maybe you had better shop around.....

BTW, I ride with guys who use mud lites and thiers were purchased around the same time as mine and they are about half gone allready, mine still look new(roughly the same amount of miles).

I'm quoting www.royaldistributing.com on sizes 26x10x12 fronts & 26x12x12 rears which is a pretty standard size upgrade for ATVs. I see in the catalog those Ken Exacutuioners are MUCH cheaper in stock sizes.
You can always shop for deals but to compare $$ I go with published list.

$360 plus GST here, called yesterday for a friend. Royal is obviously way over priced.

WOW..that's a good buy, I'd be runnin them too!
They must be givin away the Lites & Bugs out there??
What did you say the name of that place was??
Royal pricing is pretty much goin rate in the east.

That is a good buy Crazey_davey. I paid just over $520 shipped for my XTRs which is a really good deal. 26x9x12 and 26x11x12. I buy all my ATV gear from a guy out of Hinton, Ab. Good deals, especially on bigger ticket items.

Lites and bugs are expensive out here, atleast where I buy from. The guys I got the quote from are one of the biggest and most expensive shops in town, go figure. But I do know that they dont stock them, they get them from Parts Canada who is the distibutor for most stuff as I am sure you know.

Just a question for some of the guys with lots of quad experience on steep terrain. I have a Kodiak 450 with stock tires and I hunt the steep canyons of The South Sask river hills. Many times when packing a critter out the side hill angle is getting to the point where it feels like the bike might want to roll over especially with exta weight on the front carry rack. I try to avoid side hill angles but sometimes it's not possible and when I have to take them I try to shift my weight accordingly and make any passengers get off. What tires would you recommend for added stability on side hills and ditches??

You're probably experiencing a lot of side flex with your stock ATV tires. Upgrading to a six ply tire will help a lot on that problem. You might also look at going with a 14" rim over the stock 12". Match the 14" rim with a new set of radial Mud Lite XTR and you'll be minimizing tire flex about as much as you can right now.

... forgot to mention, I also added spacers between the axle and rims, gives the ATV a wider stance = less likely to rollover

Spacers do work good for more stability, but you forgot to mention the added stress they add to bearings etc..

Just a thought.....

those kodiaks are pretty simple to work on.......i wouldn't worry about the bearings. Don't forget that if you put different tires on and go with a taller tire your raising your center of gravity....makes it tippier. My grizzzly has larger tires, and 2" lift kit, and you've gotta pay attention on the sidehills. I've also nearly upset the bike with a deer on the front rack going downhill with a sidehill....I use the winch on the back and drag them now(use a crazy carpet thing t protct hide).

I put stock Grizzly rims on my Kodiak that have about an inch extra offset compared to Kodiak rims. As you can see in my pics, they are a heck of alot wider and taller. I haven't really tested it out yet, but we're heading out Monday for a ride.

I know all about those steep river valleys PSE. Had a scary time of it hauling 2 muleys out last fall. Won't do that again!

My advise on carrying heavy loads is to get a small ATV trailer. Any time you put heavy items up high on a atv your gonna increase the risk of roll-over. Diff tires, diff rims all help a little but you just gotta keep the centre of gravity low & you can't do that with heavy weights up high on the racks!
