Any recommendations of gun fitter in GVRD who sells/installs aftermarket adjustable combs? My wife and I are trying to get into trap shooting, we signed up for lessons this weekend and I'm starting to look at shotguns. Most of the shotguns with adjustable combs are well into the $4000+ range which is above my budget (~$2000). I am looking at the Citori Crossover target which seems to be a good "budget" option. Unfortunately none of my local dealers have one in stock so I may end up buying one online without being able to shoulder it. It was suggested in another thread that you could install an aftermarket adjustable comb on it and that will allow me to adjust fitment. Are these readily available and easily installed by a gunsmith? Thanks!

Vic Tomlinson did two Citori 725s for me, excellent work at $185 each plus postage.

Wow!!! that looks great for 185$.

I was very lucky when I found my Citori XT on sale. It doesn't have an adjustable stock, but it fits me perfect without. Mine has the raised comb.

Try them out first, maybe you'll get lucky too.

Do most of the citoris fit pretty much the same? No local dealer has the crossover target in stock, but lots of other citoris

I doubt it. I have both, and the the hunting vs. the trap are quite different.....

The raised comb on my XT is needed to look down the raised rail.

I once went through 25 boxes of new O/U's (all of the identical model and barrel length) to find 2 that seemed to fit.
Wound up with the one with the nicer wood, but still had to change LOP, cast & pitch.

I bought a new Crossover Target this spring, the comb is very hi on this gun for me. I have to hold the gun hi on my shoulder to sight down the rib. The gun has a hockey puck recoil pad.I hope to have a adjustable comb installed this coming winter. It works better for me on trap rather than skeet.

^Thanks for the quick review NB. Did you get the 30" or 32" model? I'm about to pull the trigger on a 30" model. Looks like I'll have to look into an aftermarket recoil pad

Slightly OT to your OP, but if you're not planning on doing any doubles have you considered the BT-99? Single barrel, but adjustable comb well within your budget.

Mine has the 30" barrels, fine for skeet and trap, I don't care for the 5 stand. You might get by with a gel pad in your shooting vest, that's what I've gone to.

Thanks for the suggestion Rolhammer. I did look at the BT-99, but I hope to start shooting skeet after I get better at trap
