If I do my part, will an aftermarket Lone Wolf G17 barrel tighten up my groups? Or, am I better off to stay with the Glock factory barrel?

Likely, the right answer isn't replacing the barrel, its probably spending more money on ammo and practicing.

If your groups are so tight and perfect you don't believe you can improve your technique any further, perhaps some hardware upgrades will help.

If an aftermarket barrel lets you shoot lots of cheap cast bullets, you can practice more, spend less and shoot better!

Are you shooting at your own time or timed? Also keep in mind most competition barrels are build to VERY tight .. sometime under spec, which works great in Factory ammo, and not so well on reloads.

In most cases a new barrel can only help so much, if your original shot groups is "on the bigger size", just practice more, check your grip, how firm each hand is..etc etc

If your shooting in a timed event ie, IPSC and plan to leave production class, a G17 with a Lone Wolfe COMP barrel does help with faster re-alignment with your target after each shot.

Hope it helps :D:D

I am shooting at my own time. I shoot factory ammo and my groups are good but I was just curious if an aftermarket barrel might tighten them up a little more. I was actually looking at a Lone Wolf extended ported barrel. Maybe I would be better off changing the factory sights.......although I like the factory sights on my G17.
