I would like to get a longer more modern stock for my No 1 Mk 3 for hunting. I was thinking abought getting the ATI polmer monte carlo what is it like? and what else is there?

As far as I know, the other synthetic option is from Ramline, if they are still making them. I haven't tried either, but I have heard more than one user say the comb on the ATI is higher than the Ramline's, so better for most scope mounts. You should check whether that is so for you. I doubt there are any new wooden stocks being manuractured for them now, but you might find some used if you can be patient and keep searching the EE on this website and other places where individuals are likely to advertise. I found a (wood) full pistol grip monte carlo buttstock in good serviceable condition for my No4Mk2 that way. Of course, if it is worth it to you, you could get a custom stock maker to produce whatever you want from a blank.

Ramline make's so mutch junk for .22's and I have seen that one and unless their is something else I don't know abought I'm going with ATI. Custom is too expensive for me.

I put an ATI stock on my Enfield last fall....absolutly love it!

I added a new ATI black sythetic stock, topped it off with a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope and had one of my 10 shot magazines cut to 6 shots.

I'm very happy with the results! I have never had such tight groups with this rifle before. The new stock is a dream to shoot and felt reciol is reduced IMO. ...quit different than with the old stock / brass buttplate.
