Anyone know if there is an aftermarket clip for this rifle? My current clips are made out of soft metal where the feed lip constantly opens and the cartridge fly out when I have the bolt open.

I have five ten rounders and I've put thousands of rounds through them with no issue. They load easy, the insert easy and these mags are cheap if you shop around. Why all the hate? Haha. I personally like them.

Speak with Savage and they may replace them. It's worked for other people.

Thanks. I'll try that. And yes I meant Mag not clip..... not sure why I put clip....I think I was talking to someone about clip boards and I was typing and ignoring him at the same time....

Not even close to being the same. I'm sure a magazine doesn't get offended when you call it a clip. A magazine and clip don't have differing cultures, governments, laws, etc... Last time I checked these are both inanimate objects and although they are not the same, they do perform a similar operation. I bet you'd know what the OP was asking if he hadn't have also said magazine. So it's really not a big deal.

Its like calling a Canadian an American.

Might not be a big deal to you, but Im sure not an American.
Using the word clip when it is a magazine is simply wrong terminology and teaches these wrong terms to new shooters does an injustice to shooting sports.

If anyone gets confused by OP (or Remington, and Marlin packaging) by the use of "clip" they can't really offer up much advice in general. I've seen the semantics police come out in the 'surp section, but not too often here in rimfires. Before OP get's the group initiative for language, fix the manufacturers that call products they've made "clips".

Taken from Merriam Webster (clip; noun)
2: a device to hold cartridges for charging the magazines of some rifles; also : a magazine from which ammunition is fed into the chamber of a firearm

If you wanna get nit picky, be sure to know your Ford isn't Posi, moot means debatable, and unthawing something would be to freeze it!

Rant off. Savage magazines are still made in abundance today here in Canada. Found all over the place. I don't think folks should have to tweak something new to make it function, but if it's beyond warranty tickle the lips a bit.

Being referred to as an American or someone calling a magazine a clip? Life is far too short to spend time getting worked up about either of those things really.

I'm sure the OP will never do it again and he's sorry.
