I see bell and carlson now make replacement stocks for T3s...
Anyone making stocks for Sako A7?

I have one that shoots fantastic, but I am not a fan of the plastic stock.....
it's the only thing I don't like about it.

McMillan will inlet for the A7 on the Sako Hunter, Sako Classic, and I believe the Sako Varmint patterns. You can get them in EDGE fill if you want lightweight.

watching with an open eye and ear! My factory A7 stock is A-Ok so far, but always open to new suggestions and ideas. Have been pre-warned not to use a forearm bi-pod on it, though! Golly, I've been using a single rail shooting stick and nothing bad has happened, yet! I'm old and shakey and am usually placed as a poster rather than a pusher! Am I asking for trouble with doing that with my factory A7 stock? Anyone know? Thanks in advance for any info.

I use a swivel stud mounted bipod on my A7 all the time. Probably around 250+ rounds and I havnt had any trouble with it. That being said I an also curious if they have any afternarket ones available.

If I were you, I'd stop doing that. That's were I've heard the stock can break and tear out a big chunk with the stud eye.

Thanks for the heads up!

From the Macmillan website:

Fitting Your Sako Action.

Since Sako often changes its actions, we must know the model number to ensure your satisfaction.

Our Sako Hunter, Sako Classic, Sako Varmint and Sako Thumbhole stock designs can be inletted for most of the older Sako actions from the L461-L579-L61R series thru the AI, AII, AV series, the A7 and the 491-591-691 series. We have reduced size versions for the little L461 and AI actions. The older L46 and L57 actions will not fit our stock designs and we do not offer stocks for them. We can also inlet our Sako stocks for the Tikka 595-695, 55, 65, T3 and Howa/Vanguard series of rifles.

The newer Sako 75 series require their own stock designs and these stocks are so indicated.

The newest Sako 85 series also requires their own designs and we have versions of the Sako Hunter and Sako Classic stocks for this series.

Please call or email for details.

A Sako Hunter with the EDGE fill, would be a perfect match...:D

FYI, if you want to ditch the plastic bolt shroud, they are the same fit as the metal 85 shroud.

I know that bell and carlson has done a run of stocks for beretta usa, for there updated Sako A7 called the Tecomate.
Not sure if they will ever sell the stock just by it's self or if you could go through Beretta to get one.

B&C wont sell them to you, and I'll bet that Beretta would charge more than the cost of a McMillan.
