Alternative Ag42 bolt removal

It's been 25 years since I had an Ag42, but I remember the stories going around then about bolts flying across rooms to embed themselves in drywall. May I suggest a safer way than the one in the surplusrifle link. At step 6, after the mag is out, the idea is to omit steps 9, 10 and 11. Do this by reversing step 51; that is, flip the switch, close the bolt (now the spring is relaxed), move the cover ahead enough to lift out the switch assembly, then remove the cover and spring, leaving the bolt and carrier on the action. Now flip the rifle upside down and slide the bolt and carrier off. As I recall, this worked better and I never handled the bolt, carrier, cover and spring as an assembly. Good luck.

I really do not like the way this guy takes the bolt carrier/bolt/ spring assembly out of the rifle!
One false move and you have dangerous flying parts.
Better get the safety block out of the way then release the latch at the rear of the carrier cover and bring it to the rear slowly while it still is controlled by the raceways on the rifle. A whole lot more secure!
You remove the relaxed spring then invert the rifle and slide the carrier and bolt as a unit out of their slide. Bingo, it's done and without any danger of forceful ejection. About 20 seconds flat.

Drat - you guys giving away all the tips! Everyone should have the pleasure of launching both the Ljungman and Hakim carriers into orbit at least once! :D

More Ag42b/Hakim

Just a note about the surplus rifle techniques. Both disassembly methods are on the site. The method both PerversPepere and I consider dangerous is the one under Maintenance. The safer method is in the article by Ryan Jones, although he doesn't mention inverting before sliding off the carrier/bolt.
